Advanced care for celiac disease
Celiac disease causes the immune system to attack the small intestine when ingesting gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley, and rye. This immune response can damage the small intestine and lead to symptoms such as digestive discomfort, poor growth, and nutrient deficiencies. Our experts provide lifelong care for people of all ages with celiac disease, including medical evaluation, dietary guidance, and support for day-to-day management. We also conduct research to better understand the causes of celiac disease and improve diagnosis and treatment.

Your care team may include digestive disease specialists, pediatricians, dietitians, and other experts. We provide care that improves celiac disease symptoms and quality of life.

- Meet with a digestive disease doctor (gastroenterologist) to discuss your health concerns
- See a dietitian to address nutrition concerns and learn more about a gluten-free diet
- Talk with a clinical research coordinator if you are interested in participating in a study
Advancing care through celiac disease research
We conduct innovative research to advance the understanding of celiac disease. Our celiac disease research focuses on:
- Complications, including infertility, osteoporosis, and cancer
- Disease genetics and inflammatory processes
- Earlier disease detection and diagnosis
- Emotional impact of the diagnosis on patients and families
- Treatment challenges
