Why are female athletes unique?

Women are staying more active with age and participating in an expanding variety of sports and exercise modalities. As world leaders in research and care, our Mass General Brigham Women's Sports medicine team offers an advanced understanding of the treatment of women's sports injuries, including the latest innovations in care.

Rates of acute and overuse injuries are rising in women, and our team can help you understand how muscle imbalances, dietary alterations, hormonal changes and other biological factors can put women at a greater risk for certain injuries than men. We work with you through your entire sports journey to help with prevention, treatment and rehabilitation from injuries.
