Sports medicine care when you need it

Mass General Brigham clinicians from Massachusetts General Hospital, Brigham and Women's Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Salem Hospital collaborate to bring you fast access to the best care for all types of sports injuries.

We schedule you for a same-day telehealth virtual visit (in most cases), which you can access from a laptop, tablet, or mobile phone. Call us at 617-726-0500 from 8 am to 8 pm 7 days a week for rapid access to sports medicine specialists for your knee or shoulder injury.

During your appointment, you speak with an experienced sports medicine practitioner over video who:

  • Helps you better understand your injury
  • Arranges important next steps on your path to recovery
  • Provides fast access to one of our world-class sports medicine physicians or surgeons, in many cases as soon as the next day (when necessary)

A trained sports medicine practitioner provides a complete evaluation of your injury and helps you understand its urgency and severity. We offer quick and convenient guidance for appropriate next steps, which can range from icing, observation, and rest, seeing a physical therapist to prescribing medication or ordering appropriate X-rays or an MRI, to getting expedited appointments with one of our sports medicine physicians.

Advantages to our Virtual Sports Injury Clinic

This includes all injuries to the regions' bones, muscles, ligaments, menisci, rotator cuffs and kneecaps (patella). If you're unsure whether your injury can be evaluated virtually, one of our trained clinicians will help you find the most convenient and appropriate care for your specific situation.
