Our approach to lupus care

Lupus can affect different people in different ways. We provide personalized care that considers all your needs to help you achieve your best possible health and quality of life.
Collaborative care

Because lupus can affect multiple organs and body systems, coordinated specialty care is often an important part of treatment. Our rheumatologists collaborate with specialists in dermatology, nephrology, neurology, obstetrics and gynecology, and cardiology who have experience caring for people with lupus. Together, they provide timely, coordinated care and communicate with your other care providers.

Our rheumatologists also have experience helping young people transition from pediatric to adult lupus care and caring for patients with lupus during family planning and pregnancy.

Empowering patients
Lupus symptoms may range from mild to severe and may come and go. Understanding how lupus affects your mental, physical, and emotional well-being helps you make informed decisions about your care. We provide the information and support you need to recognize early signs of flares and take an active role in managing your health.
Research and innovation
The Lupus Center is part of our broader Lupus Program, which brings together clinical care and research focused on improving the understanding and treatment of lupus. Our researchers study the causes of lupus, develop better options for diagnosis and treatment, and work toward new ways to prevent and cure this complex autoimmune disease.
