Interstitial Lung Disease Program
Comprehensive options for lung scarring
Early diagnosis and treatment are essential to prevent lung scarring caused by interstitial lung disease (ILD). Our program is one of the largest in the Northeast. We provide access to the latest treatments, advanced clinical trials, and specialized services you can’t find in many locations.
Among our many services, we treat sarcoidosis, a rare type of ILD, and offer comprehensive pulmonary rehab and perform lung transplants to help people live longer, healthier lives.
Our approach to interstitial lung disease
Getting an accurate diagnosis is the first step to finding the right treatments for ILD. Diagnostics we use include:
- High-resolution CT scans to see your lungs
- Pulmonary function and exercise tests to measure your breathing and movement
- Bronchoscopy and surgical biopsy to look for the causes of lung problems
- Echocardiogram to monitor your heart health
Living with ILD is easier when you have someone who understands what you’re going through. We sponsor a free monthly support group for people with ILD and their caregivers. Meetings cover practical strategies for living well with pulmonary fibrosis and topics like:
- Oxygen use and supplies
- Senior home care services
- Vaccines and immunology
