Expert pediatric neurology and neurosurgery care

Our pediatric neurologists and neurosurgeons care for children with neurologic conditions ranging from common to rare and complex. Care is tailored to each child’s diagnosis, with specialists who focus on specific conditions so families are matched with the expertise their child needs.

We use a multidisciplinary approach, bringing together experts in nutrition, psychology, child psychiatry, orthopedics, and speech, occupational, and physical therapy to support the whole child and family.

Our approach to pediatric neurologic care

We provide coordinated, age-appropriate neurologic and neurosurgical care that supports children and families from diagnosis through treatment and follow-up, from before birth through adolescence.

Comprehensive pediatric neurology care
Our pediatric neurologists diagnose and treat infants, children, and adolescents with the full spectrum of neurologic conditions, from common concerns like headaches to rare and complex disorders. Care is tailored to your child’s age, symptoms, and needs, with coordinated planning across specialties.
Developmental evaluations for young children
We provide comprehensive evaluations for children ages 18 months to 6 years who may have developmental delays. Assessments help clarify diagnosis, guide care planning, and connect families with appropriate therapies and supports.
Pediatric epilepsy surgery

Our pediatric epilepsy surgery program offers the full spectrum of treatments for children with seizures that do not respond to medication. Options range from minimally invasive approaches—including laser ablation (LITT), stereo-EEG monitoring, and responsive neurostimulation (RNS)—to open resection, callosotomy, and hemispherotomy.

Care is coordinated through a dedicated weekly multidisciplinary epilepsy conference, ensuring each child’s plan is reviewed by a team of neurologists, neurosurgeons, and specialists.

Region’s only provider of proton therapy for children

We’re home to one of the few proton therapy centers in the country providing this advanced radiation treatment to children. Proton therapy allows us to precisely target tumors, minimizing potential damage to nearby healthy tissues.

Your child may get proton therapy:

  • Before surgery, to shrink tumors and make them less risky to remove.
  • After surgery to destroy lingering cancer cells.
  • Instead of surgery, if a tumor’s location makes it too risky to remove.
Neonatal neurology expertise

We provide specialized care for newborns with neurologic complications:

  • Prenatal consultation for known or suspected neurological concerns Therapeutic hypothermia for infants who experience oxygen deprivation at birth
  • Evaluation and management of brain injury in premature infants
  • Monitoring of brain activity and blood flow to detect seizures or changes in circulation
  • Diagnosis and treatment of neonatal seizures
  • Evaluation and management of neonatal stroke
  • Care in neonatal intensive care units for newborns with neurological or neuromuscular conditions
  • Coordination of physical, occupational, and feeding therapies for infants at risk of brain injury
Neurology follow-up from infancy through adolescence
We provide ongoing neurologic care for infants, children, and adolescents with conditions identified early in life, including seizure disorders, neuromuscular conditions, and developmental concerns. Ongoing follow-up supports early intervention and coordinated care as children grow and their needs change, ensuring continuity of both neurologic and neurosurgical care into adulthood.

Pediatric neurological conditions we treat

Many conditions can affect a child’s nervous system. Some neurological conditions are present at birth, while others form during childhood. We diagnose and treat a wide range of pediatric neurologic conditions, from common disorders to rare and complex diseases.

Neuroscience clinical trials and research

Our research is shaping the future of neuroscience care. We offer access to clinical trials and emerging therapies, including treatments that may not yet be widely available. Eligibility depends on a person’s diagnosis, treatment history, and more. Explore our research and clinical trials or talk with your care team to learn about available options.
