Services we offer

Mass General Brigham offers specialized programs for people experiencing psychosis and related mental health conditions:

  • Psychotic disorders care at McLean Hospital (Belmont, MA: Request care at McLean)
  • Psychosis Clinical & Research Program at Massachusetts General Hospital (Boston, MA): Request care at Mass General)
  • Young Adult Mental Health at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (ages 18–26): Call 617-732-6753 to make an appointment.

Our approach to psychosis care

Psychosis can be distressing and may affect school or work, physical health, and relationships. Our goal is to provide compassionate, person-centered care that helps manage symptoms and supports you in reaching your personal goals.
Full-spectrum psychosis care

Mass General Brigham offers care across the full continuum, including inpatient, outpatient, residential , home-based, and community-based services. Treatment begins with a comprehensive evaluation of your symptoms, health, and daily life, followed by a personalized care plan.

Care may include:

  • Therapy

  • Group therapy
  • Peer support
  • Educational and vocational support
  • Coordination with other specialists
Care tailored to each stage of illness

Psychosis treatment is most effective when tailored to where you are in your experience. Our programs include specialized care for:

  • Individuals at risk for psychosis
  • First-episode and early psychosis
  • Ongoing care and recovery
At-risk and early support programs

Some people experience early or mild symptoms that may not develop into a psychotic disorder but still benefit from evaluation and support. These symptoms may also be related to other conditions such as anxiety, trauma, or substance use.

Programs include:

  • RE-SET Program (MGH): Team-based outpatient care for ages 12–30
  • STAR Program (McLean): Early intervention focused on resilience and functioning
First-episode and early psychosis programs

Early treatment can lead to better outcomes.

Programs include:

  • FEPP (MGH): Care for individuals ages 14–30 experiencing first-episode psychosis
  • OnTrack (McLean): Two-year program for young adults ages 18–30
  • Young Adult Mental Health (BWH): Ongoing care for ages 18–26
Ongoing care and recovery

Long-term care focuses on stability, relapse prevention, and quality of life.

Programs include:

  • ROCC (MGH): Care for individuals with stable symptoms
  • TRS ACCESS Network (MGH): Advanced treatment for treatment-resistant schizophrenia
  • Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorders Clinic (McLean)
  • Psychosis Across the Lifespan (PALS) (BWH)
Specialized treatment and consultation

We offer specialized services for evaluation and treatment of complex cases:

  • Clozapine Clinic (MGH): Expert management of advanced medications
  • Psychosis Consultation Service: Second opinions and diagnostic support
  • Outpatient Consultation Service (McLean)
Residential and community-based care
Peer and family support

Our peer-led programs, family support groups, and community-based services provide practical support, education, and connection for individuals and their loved ones:

  • Waverley Place (McLean): Peer-led community support
  • WellSpace (McLean): Group-based support for young adults
  • Family Support Group: Weekly virtual support for families
Community partnerships

We partner with community organizations to expand access to care:

  • MGH Charlestown Community Health Center
  • North Suffolk Community Services (Freedom Trail Clinic)
