Clinical Pathology
Reliable, timely diagnoses
Clinical pathologists ensure and perform accurate and timely analysis of lab samples, such as tissue, blood, or other body fluids. They effectively communicate results to the physician who ordered the test to help guide patient treatment.
At Mass General Brigham, we prioritize reliable, timely diagnoses so you get effective treatment as soon as possible.
Commitment to leading-edge care
Our clinical pathologists run many routine tests 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
We test many types of samples in our specialized labs, including the:
- Clinical chemistry lab to analyze serum, urine, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF), and other body fluids.
- Hematology lab to test whole blood, serum, urine, CSF, and other body fluids.
- Immunology lab to help diagnose autoimmune, infectious, and allergic diseases.
- Microbiology lab to find organisms responsible for bacterial, fungal, and parasitic infections.
- Reproductive endocrinology lab, which includes a non-donor sperm bank.
- Tissue typing lab for solid organ transplant candidates and prospective donors.
- Virology lab to test for different viruses.
Our outpatient phlebotomy services allow you to get blood taken at public draw stations throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
We have many locations to make it as easy as possible to get the blood work you need.
