About the Onco-Gastroenterology Program
This innovative program is one of the few in the United States dedicated to addressing the gastrointestinal (GI) side effects of cancer therapy and maximizing outcomes for cancer survivors.
Working together as a team with your oncologist(s), our program aims to provide GI care to:
- Patients with a history of GI disease who now have to undergo cancer treatment
- Patients with GI side-effects of radiation or chemotherapy with traditional agents and newer targeted therapies
- Cancer survivors who need GI cancer screening or treatment of GI disease
Onco-Gastroenterology Program Services
The Onco-Gastroenterology Program brings together expert gastroenterologists from Mass General Brigham to provide optimal gastrointestinal care for the cancer patient. The uniqueness of this program hinges on the close working relationship of our gastroenterologists with your oncologist(s).
Our comprehensive program provides care for:
- Patients with existing gastrointestinal issues who have newly diagnosed cancer
- Patients who may have gastrointestinal side-effects from traditional cancer therapy, such as chemotherapy, radiation, or novel molecular targeted therapies that may have potential adverse gastrointestinal side-effects.
- Patients who are cancer survivors and need to be screened and treated for gastrointestinal cancer or disease that may or may not be related to their treatment.
