Delivering care to ALS patients wherever they are

The ALS House Call Program builds on the care model of the Healey & AMG Center for ALS, extending specialized ALS care beyond the clinic and into patients’ homes.

For people with ALS, access to care can become increasingly difficult. This program helps reduce that burden while maintaining close connection to the Healey & AMG Center for ALS care team and coordinated treatment planning.

Our approach to care

In collaboration with our care partners in and outside of Mass General Brigham, our goal is to provide care to ALS patients where they live.
Serving Healey & AMG Center for ALS patients across Massachusetts

For ALS patients, receiving care at home not only avoids the stress and time of traveling to the hospital: it may also provide additional comfort from being in a familiar environment.

Currently, our team offers ALS care in 9 of 14 Massachusetts counties, namely:

  • Worcester
  • Middlesex
  • Norfolk
  • Barnstable
  • Plymouth
  • Essex
  • Suffolk
  • Bristol
Collaborative care delivery

The ALS House Call Program is a collaborative effort between the ALS Multidisciplinary Clinic and Compassionate Care ALS (CCALS). We also work with other house call programs and providers to share best practices and ways to better provide for our patients’ needs.

Our house call nurses coordinate closely with your care team to ensure your care stays organized and personalized to your needs.

Our neuroscience specialists

Your care is coordinated by a team of specialists in neurology, neurosurgery, advanced brain imaging, and nursing. Depending on your condition, your care team may also include experts in neuropsychology, rehabilitation, genetics, social work, and mental health. This team works together to understand your neurological condition from every angle and develop a care plan tailored to you.
