Several departments within the Mass General Brigham network of hospitals can help you with your career goals and can also be an avenue for professional networking as well as opportunities for meeting new friends.  

At Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH):

  • MGH Office for Research Careers (ORC) offers career and professional development information, such as events explaining how to get your paper published, free English classes, social events so that you can meet other researchers, and much more. The ORC facilitates the career advancement of research faculty and trainees through one-on-one advice, group trainings, and development of career promoting research policy This office also supports the MGH Postdoc Association (MGPA). 

  • MGH Office for Women's Careers (OWC) helps to advance the careers of women at Mass General. The OWC supports the career advancement and leadership development of women faculty and trainees with one-on-one meetings, skill-building programs, and institutional efforts to promote women’s careers.

  • MGH Chinese Scientist and Staff Association (CSSA) offers Chinese and non-Chinese friends and colleagues at MGH to explore Chinese traditions, culture, and arts. Founded in 2007, the mission of MGH/CSSA the promotion of academic, cultural, and social activities in Chinese community of Mass General Hospital and Mass General Brigham, plus facilitate exchanges between China and US in science, medicine, and culture.

At Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH):

  • BWH Office for Research Careers (ORC) offers excellent career and professional development information, such as events explaining how to get your paper published, discounted English classes on BWH property, social events so that you can meet other researchers, and much more. The Office for Research Careers’ (ORC) mission is to support the professional needs of the research community at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. The ORC strives to support research trainees and faculty across the academic continuum by providing resources to support and promote career and professional development, enhance the training experience, and foster effective mentoring. The ORC collaborates with the Brigham Research Institute, Postdoctoral Association, and Center for Diversity and Inclusion to offer a myriad of opportunities to the diverse research community.

  • BWH Office for Women's Careers helps to advance the careers of women at BWH. In addition, this office supports the Office for Minority Faculty Development and the Committee for Internationally Trained Women Faculty at Brigham and Women's Hospital. 

  • The Biomedical Research Institute (BRI) brings together world-class scientists and clinicians at Brigham and Women’s Hospital under the umbrella of a comprehensive and coordinated research effort, providing resources for Investigators and Research Collaborators.

    At Mass Eye and Ear (MEE):

  • Resources for MEE Research Fellows Links to core facilities, department specific resources and Harvard resources.
