The Office of Continuing Professional Development provides individual-disciplined and team-oriented, evidence-based educational activities that are designed to improve clinical practice, clinical decision-making, quality patient outcomes and safety, and advance medical professional development.

Our office supports educational interventions for health care providers throughout the United States and around the globe, featuring primary source subject matter experts from our many Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals, other top tier academic medical centers, and experienced clinicians and researchers working in a range of community based, long-term care, and rehabilitative settings. It is a priority to foster interprofessional education, thereby promoting team cohesion to improve patient care.
Mass General Brigham is now a provider of Joint Accreditation for Interprofessional Continuing Education. The certification by the governing bodies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Accreditation Program.
As a Joint Accreditation provider, Mass General Brigham can now provide professional development systemwide with accompanying credit for any single discipline or combination of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, physician assistants, dentists, psychologists, optometrists, social workers, dieticians, and athletic trainers. Moving forward, we will also work to align interprofessional continuing education with emerging models of healthcare delivery across the system.
