Mass General Brigham

Pediatric Dermatology Fellowship

Training physicians to become experts in the care of children with skin disorders in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.

Dr. Elena Hawryluk with a pediatric patient

Overview

The primary goal of the one-year pediatric dermatology fellowship is to train dermatologists to become experts in the care of children with skin disorders in both the inpatient and outpatient settings. Secondary goals of the fellowship are to train physician-scientists to advance our understanding of pediatric dermatology and train physician educators/leaders to develop the next generation of pediatric dermatologists. Fellows will have the opportunity to take part in various research projects across the institution, collaborate with international leaders in dermatology, as well as actively participate in clinical trials aiding in the development of novel therapeutics for children.

The fellow will participate in Pediatric Dermatology clinics at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) and Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) campuses, including a continuity experience, and will rotate through subspecialty clinics including laser, procedural, pediatric allergy, pediatric rheumatology, and others. The fellow will have the opportunity to round regularly with the MGH dermatology consult service on the inpatient unit, NICU, and newborn nursery, and participate in Dermatology Grand Rounds. They participate in pediatric dermatology case conferences and a journal club. A scholarly project is developed on an individualized basis based on fellow interest.
