Several Mass General Brigham community hospitals have also earned honors as high performers in several medical specialties and treatments:
Newton-Wellesley Hospital ranked #6 in the Boston Metro Area and #7 in Massachusetts (both tied with Salem Hospital). Newton-Wellesley was also recognized as High Performing in 14 procedures and conditions: back surgery (spinal fusion); COPD; colon cancer surgery; diabetes; heart arrhythmia; heart failure; hip fracture; hip replacement; kidney failure; knee replacement; leukemia, lymphoma & myeloma; lung cancer surgery; pneumonia; and prostate cancer surgery.
Salem Hospital ranked #6 in the Boston Metro Area and #7 in Massachusetts (both tied with Newton-Wellesley Hospital). Salem was also recognized as High Performing in Diabetes and Endocrinology; Geriatrics; and Pulmonology & Lung Surgery, as well as 11 procedures and conditions: COPD, colon cancer surgery, diabetes, heart arrhythmia; heart attack; heart failure; hip replacement; kidney failure; lung cancer surgery; pacemaker implantation; and pneumonia.
Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital ranked #8 in the Boston Metro Area, #9 in Massachusetts and was nationally ranked in Diabetes and Endocrinology. BWFH was recognized as High Performing in Orthopedics and in eight procedures and conditions: COPD, diabetes, heart arrhythmia, heart failure, hip replacement, kidney failure, knee replacement, and pneumonia.
Cooley Dickinson Hospital was rated as High Performing in 3 procedures and conditions: hip replacement; knee replacement; and pneumonia.
