Vice President, Clinical Trials Research and Administration

Stephen D. Wiviott, MD, FACC is a graduate of University of Pennsylvania and Harvard Medical School (HMS, Honors). He served as a Medicine resident and Chief Medical Resident at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH). Following his medical residency training, he served as a Cardiology fellow at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He is a Professor of Medicine at Harvard Medical School, and a Senior Investigator with the TIMI study group.

As an investigator, Dr. Wiviott has played important roles in the planning, implementation, leadership, and interpretation of multicenter, national, and international clinical trials in acute coronary syndromes including the TRITON-TIMI 38 trial, PRINCIPLE-TIMI 44 and of the TIMI 38 Coronary Stent Registry. He has also served in leadership of trials of secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease as global PI of DECLARE – TIMI 58, CAMELLIA – TIMI 61, and DAPA ACT HF – TIMI 68 assessing CV safety and efficacy of metabolic therapies. He is the Chairman of the TIMI Clinical Events Committee and recognized as an expert in event definitions and adjudications. Dr. Wiviott is an author of over 200 peer-reviewed publications in major medical and cardiovascular journals including 15 original articles in the New England Journal of Medicine. He was named in 2014 and 2017 by Thomson Reuters and Clarivate Analytics as one of “The World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds” and in 2016-2020 as a “Highly Cited Researcher,” recognitions inclusive of the top 1% of researchers in Clinical Medicine by citation. 

Building on his trials experience, Dr. Wiviott serves as Vice President for Clinical Trials Research and Administration for Mass General Brigham and leads the Mass General Brigham Clinical Trials Office. The CTO provides contracting, budgeting, and clinical trial management services for Mass General Brigham hospital investigators and industry sponsors and is tasked with supporting and growing clinical trials research at Mass General Brigham.

Director of Operations

Suzanne Morin joined the Clinical Trials Office as a Director of Operations in November 2015. She is responsible for the oversight of the group and ensuring the CTO provides Mass General Brigham investigators and industry sponsors with timely and innovative clinical trial management solutions. Suzanne joined the CTO team from the TIMI Study Group at Brigham and Women’s Hospital where she served as Director of Operations from 2010-2015. Prior to that she spent ten years as a senior project director at the Harvard Clinical Research Institute. Suzanne holds an undergraduate and graduate degrees from Boston University.

Director of Agreements 

Michael joined the Clinical Trials Office in November 2012. Michael is responsible for the management of the Agreements Team and oversight of the drafting, negotiation, and execution of a wide range of agreements related to corporate sponsored clinical research at Mass General Brigham institutions, including clinical trial, non-disclosure, service, consulting, and data use agreements. Michael serves as a resource on state and federal regulations relating to clinical trials and provides consultation to the Mass General Brigham research community on clinical research contracting and compliance. Michael received his juris doctor degree cum laude from Suffolk University Law School and Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Bates College. He is a member of the Massachusetts bar.

Director, Financial Services

Jennifer joined Partners Innovation in 2000 and the CTO in 2006. She is responsible for oversight of the finance team to provide investigators with comprehensive services for industry clinical research pre-award budgeting including drafting, negotiation, and approval. She also oversees the Medicare Coverage Analysis and Medicare device petition processes. She completed her B.A. at Franklin & Marshall College with a major in psychology and a minor in dance. She received her MS in health policy and management from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. Her personal interests include choreography, dance, classical piano, and spending time with her husband and two children.

Director, Clinical Trial Management System

Jennifer joined the Clinical Trials Office as Director, Clinical Trial Management Systems in June 2018. She is responsible for the oversight of the CTMS team and ensuring the CTO provides Mass General Brigham  investigators with clinical trial management systems. Jennifer has been with Mass General Brigham in various roles since 2008. She most recently filled the role of integration manager for the Mass General Brigham eCare technical integration team. As part of the Mass General Brigham eCare technical integration leadership team, she and her team implemented and supported interface solutions as part of the Mass General Brigham eCare roll out. She holds an undergraduate degree in Health Management from Northeastern University.
