Workshops and Events for Leaders

Program directors and program coordinators play a pivotal role in the educational mission of the Mass General Brigham hospitals. Workshops and other events support them in building their knowledge and furthering their impact as it relates to training the next generation of health care leaders.

Program director workshops and annual retreat

Workshops are designed to cover topics that are particularly important for GME Program Directors. Associate Program Directors, Medical Student Clerkship Directors, Program Coordinators, and program faculty are also encouraged to attend. Many of the workshops are relevant to Chief Residents, who are then also invited to attend those sessions.

Workshops are held multiple times each year, via Zoom, with recordings available via the GME SharePoint site (login required). The Mass General Brigham Education Committee set an expectation that Program Directors attend at least three Program Director workshops per year unless they are getting comparable experience by attending a national meeting of Program Directors, attending an AAMC or ACGME conference, serving on an RRC, or participating in a similar activity.

Note: attending the annual Mass General Brigham Program Director Retreat also fulfills this expectation. Most importantly, PDs are encouraged to participate in these workshops to learn and contribute alongside PD colleagues from across Mass General Brigham.

Upcoming workshops and retreats

Dates and topics are posted on the GME Calendar. Suggestions for future session topics should be sent to Lori Berkowitz, MD.
