Mass General Brigham Innovation is a 140-person unit, responsible for the commercial application of the unique capabilities of its 80,000 employees and faculty. It has exclusive responsibility for technology business development, related investment, governance, and the commercialization and management of all breakthroughs of Mass General Brigham staff.

Mass General Brigham supports the research requirements of its Harvard Medical School-appointed faculty and its core hospitals—Harvard Medical School affiliates Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear, McLean Hospital, and Spaulding Rehabilition.

Licensing Internship Program

The Licensing Internship Program provides candidates with an opportunity to gain experience in early-stage technology assessment and commercialization at a leading academic medical center. Individuals with a solid scientific background, strong interest in new technology, and commitment to improving the delivery of health care are encouraged to apply.

 Interns work closely with licensing managers to:

  • Triage invention disclosures
  • Assess commercial markets
  • Assist with business development outreach
  • Draft/negotiate commercial agreements

The internship program consists of two sessions per year. A link to apply for the internship program will be posted on this site according to the below schedule:

Session Schedule

  • Summer: June to August (full-time). Recruitment begins in January
  • Fall/Spring: September to May (part-time). Recruitment begins in June
