Samples are maintained in an institution-wide repository which is a growing resource available to Mass General Brigham investigators and research groups. These samples are available for distribution to Mass General Brigham investigators with required approval from the Mass General Brigham Institutional Review board (IRB). They are linked to clinical data, some additional health information, and survey data. Genomic data is available for >65,000 participants free of charge.
To date, more than 135,000 patients have consented to participate in the Mass General Brigham Biobank at hospitals and clinics across the Mass General Brigham system, including Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Mass Eye and Ear Infirmary, Faulkner Hospital, Newton-Wellesley Hospital, McLean Hospital, North Shore Medical Center and Spaulding Rehabilitation Network.
