About the Innovator Community Expansion Initiative

The Innovator Community Expansion Initiative (ICEI) focuses on cultivating an inclusive community at Mass General Brigham. Its mission is to grow and diversify the pool of innovators and offer developmental opportunities for women and diverse faculty and leaders.

ICEI employs a data-driven and unique approach to directly impact its target population. ICEI focuses on understanding the barriers to innovation and designing tailored interventions to achieve meaningful outcomes. It has two over-arching goals:

  • Increase the output of commercially actionable and patient-centric innovation by growing and diversifying the innovator community
  • Provide professional development for diverse leaders to build their skills as innovators, board members and commercial collaborators

  • Individuals who are motivated to start their commercialization journey, have not yet executed a license at Mass General Brigham, and want to be a part of the innovator community

Pilot objectives:

  • Provide understanding of organizational resources and networks to foster commercialization at Mass General Brigham
  • Develop and foster self-awareness, influencing, and entrepreneurial skills
  • Support participants to see themselves as innovators who can lead in a complex environment
  • Encourage participants to not just develop opportunities for themselves, but to influence others at Mass General Brigham

Information about the application process for our upcoming cohort (March 2024) will be available soon.
